The Graduate Spotlight is on...

Brother Jeff Cisek '02, 1st Lieutenant, U.S. Marines

In the summer of 1999, following his freshman year, Bother Cisek attended Marines Corp boot camp in Parris Island. That fall, he moved back into the FIJI House. “Talk about a change in environments”, writes Brother Cisek.” In March 2002, I attended my last FIJI party and entered the real world.”

Two days after graduation, Brother Cisek was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marines Corps. He worked in Cleveland, OH for 6 months as an Inspector Instructor, then moved to Quantico, VA where during his tour he married his OU Pi Phi Sweetheart, Betsy. Then on to Camp Lejeune, NC, where he is a member of the 2nd Maintenance Batallion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group.

Currently, Brother Cisek is deployed with a Combat Logistics Regiment in Al Taqaddum, Iraq where his duties include responsibility for every secondary repairable part in Iraq, as well as, managing an account that holds more than 2,050 national stock numbers at a dollar value of over $107 million.

Jeff reports, upon his return, he looks forward to seeing his great buddy Brother Dave Knickerbocker’01, an Account Executive for the Chicago Cubs organization, “The guy I got my FratTat with is working his dream job in Chicago. I hope he can help me out with getting good seats for a game”.

No problem. Brother Knickerbocker is on the job. Brother Knickerbocker writes “What I was always so impressed with Jeff was that he didn’t allow himself to be compromised or changed by the atmosphere that is sometimes created at Ohio University. He knew what he wanted to do and how to do it and went out and accomplished it. All the guys who graduated with him and lived with him for three years are really proud of him and wish him the best and can’t wait for him to return”.
