Fall Rush a Resounding Success!

During the Fall, Alpha Omega Chapter was successful once again in attracting a quality Pledge Class, consisting of nineteen (19) Members. To assist in the process, AOGA, Inc. and the Alpha Omega Chapter again offered a Freshman Scholarship of $500 to an incoming male student at Ohio University. Presentation of the Award to the winner will be made in early January 2007 by AOGA Vice President Mike Hajoway '06. We look forward to welcoming these Pledges as Brothers in the Alpha Omega Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta in the not-too- distant future! Membership in Alpha Omega Chapter now rests at 88 Actives and 19 Pledges, with Winter Quarter Rush on the horizon in less than 2 months. Well done, Brothers!

Coming soon.......OUFIJI.COM Version 2.0

Although only a little more than one year old, the software platform on which our website operates is rapidly becoming dated. While the current platform has served us well, our needs continue to grow as do our membership ranks. Managing the site and integrating multiple databases, archiving information and the addition of over 300 photos from the 40th Anniversary Celebration are now leading us to adopt a more current means of managing the site.

Affordable technology enhancements abound since the initial design of our website in April 2006 and we will be converting the entire website to the Microsoft Visual Studio platform by Pig Dinner 2007. Brothers Mike Hajoway '06 and Bob Hill '06 are working feverishly on this conversion and expect to have a beta version available for testing shortly after the first of the year. During the testing phase, the original site will remain operative and all features will be accessible.

Enhancements will include a more user-friendly method for requesting Usernames and Passwords to access restricted areas of the site, obtain replacement passwords if forgotten or lost, and the ability to change your password immediately. Users will also be delighted to know that navigation will be greatly enhanced thru the use of drop down menus and the ability to "tailor" those sections of the site visited most frequently, depending upon your interest as a Graduate Brother, Undergraduate Brother, Prospective Member, FIJI Parent or Visitor.

Once the new site is fully operational in late April, management of the site going forward will transfer to Mike and Bob. Thanks, Brothers, for your valuable expertise and commitment of time to enhance and facilitate communications among Alpha Omega Brothers!
