Cec Martin '67

Cecil L. Martin

November 25, 1945 - May 30, 2007

Cecil L. Martin, 61 years of age, of West Toledo passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, May 30, 2007 at St. Anne’s Hospital.


Cecil was born November 25, 1945 to Robert and Ruth Martin. He graduated from Richwood High School, Richwood, Ohio in 1963, and attended Ohio University obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1967, and his Masters in Education in 1975.


Cecil began his career in education at the Washington Local school district as principal, later becoming the Director of Curriculum. He retired in 1999 but went back to serve as principal at McGregor Elementary for 2 years.

He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and was an avid collector focusing on coins, case knives and comic books.


He loved spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking and playing golf with his buddies.


He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Linda and daughters, Janette (Dustin) Warren and Jennifer (Chris) Alford. The grandchildren are Mackenzie and Madison Warren. Also surviving are his mother, Ruth Martin Anderson, sister, Lois (Dave) Lucas and brother, Calvin (Rosy) Martin. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert and his brother, Carl Martin.


Friends may call at the Coyle Funeral Home 1770 S. Reynolds Road Sunday 2-8 p.m. The funeral will be in the mortuary Monday at 10 a.m. with interment in Green Camp Cemetery, Marion, Ohio at 3 p.m.. Memorials may take the form of a contribution to the charity of the donor’s choice.
